This week we played these great games:
We got sent a copy of Villainous and fell madly in love with this little card game! So simple but deceptively thinky and challenging. We both had several times when we THOUGHT we were about to win only to have victory pulled out from under us. I'm not usually a fan of "take that" sort of mechanisms in a game but this one does it perfectly. Great theme, great art and design and amazing components. Can't wait to try more villains and the expansion! 2 thumbs way up!
Centrix continues to be a hit with the new people we show it to. Playing up to 4, this is a chaotic race to the top with the unique mechanism of spinning rings of the "board." Fun to play and fun to just watch too.
We went back to Kingsburg (with the To Forge a Realm expansion) and played this wonderful dice/worker placement again, remembering how much we loved the game with so many ways to turn your dice into resources and points. Love this game!
My brother-in-law is still obsessed with Clank! So this week we learned and played the Mummy's Curse expansion. Oh WOW! This expansion doesn't really change the game very much but it just feels so much harder and more interesting. Great expansion!
We played our early copy of Age of Civilization. There is a lot to like about this game. It plays fast, there are a bunch of civilizations and a great mechanism where more actions become available over time.
And we played another little game that we are still not permitted to talk about yet.\
