What Did You Play Mondays? April 1, 2019
Join the Board Game Conversation. What Did You Play Mondays: April 1, 2019
This week was a trick-taking week of lighter games.
We played a couple of games of Robber Knights, an early Rudiger Dorn area control game with tile laying. Really simple, fast and fun. A great thinky, filler if you like games like Carcassonne.
Gorus Maximus has some incredible artwork by Kwanchai Moriya. This is an easy-to-learn, trick-taking game with a clever scoring mechanism. Quick to pick up and fast gameplay make this one a winner for me! And it plays up to 8 players! Designed by fellow-Canadian, Conor McGoey, Gorus Maximus is light fun with a gorey, bloody theme. If you like games like Hearts and Uno and want gorey eye-candy while you spill blood on the sands of your tabletop area, this is the game for you.
And we played several games of Skull King and introduced it to my family who loved it. Reminding of the many, many hours spent playing Hearts, Skull King let us take tricks, laugh and talk like pirates. So much fun! I think we'll be playing this one a LOT in the days to come.
