A bit of a slower week for me but full of quality gaming experiences. This week:
I got to introduce my sister and her husband to Sagrada. Sagrada is a beautiful dice-drafting game about creating a stained glass window with colourful dice. Lots of interesting strategic choices in this one.
I bought a copy of the beautiful quick, filler game, Chakra. I love this game. It's feels very much like a mult-player solitaire game - there isn't a lot of player interaction. But the art and theme work together to create a very calming game that is fun to play. The game is about collecting energy crystals and moving them around your player board to properly align your chakras. Not typically a theme that would interest me but the game is just a lot of FUN to play. It's kind of a race to the finish but there are enough ways to score to points and make strategic choices that may get you the win even if you don't get your chakras aligned first.
Played some more Cheeky Butts (by the people who created Bananagrams) with my niece and nephew. This is a fantastic new game for kids aged 5 and up. This exciting real-time pattern matching game provides tons of shouting and laughter. Like a card game version of musical chairs you don't want to be caught with a card in your hand on your turn when the random-timer runs out. Great game!
